UniFi - App: Traffic Bandwidth Limits

Modified on Thu, 15 Dec, 2022 at 10:37 AM

In some scenarios, you may want to have limitations on the upload and download WiFi speeds. For example, a hotel may want to throttle bandwidth on the guest WiFi so the staff/management network speed isn't affected. You can create multiple user groups with specific upload/download limitations that can be associated with each WiFi network.

1. In order to set up the bandwidth limit within a WiFi network, you will need to go to the Settings page and then go to Profiles

2. Then go to Create New Bandwidth Profile

3. Now you can set the name of the bandwidth profile and limit the speeds the profile has

4. Once the settings have been applied, go back to the WiFi network settings to apply the Bandwith Profile. You will need to toggle the Advanced Configuration to Manual to be able to select the newly-created Bandwidth Profile

5. Once the profile has been selected, save the settings to apply the changes.
