How to create and apply wireless bandwidth limits

In certain scenarios, such as in a hotel, it may be necessary to limit WiFi upload and download speeds to ensure that the guest network does not impact the staff or management network performance. To achieve this, you can create multiple user groups with specific upload and download limitations for each WiFi network.

Steps to Set Up Bandwidth Limits

1. Access Settings

  • Navigate to the Settings page and select Profiles. Click on Create New Bandwidth Profile.

2. Create a Bandwidth Profile

  • Refer to the image below for guidance. Enter a name for the bandwidth profile, specify the upload and download limitations to set the desired bandwidth speeds
  • Save the details to apply the changes.

3. Assign the Bandwidth Profile

  • Go to the WiFi settings.
  • Depending on your requirements, select an existing WiFi network or create a new one. The process of assigning the bandwidth profile remains the same.

4. Configure Advanced Settings

  • In the WiFi settings, set Advanced Configuration to Manual
  • Assign the newly created bandwidth profile to the network.

You have now successfully created a bandwidth limit profile and assigned it to a wireless network. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]
