How to perform RF scans on UniFi Access Points

If you are experiencing channel interference and connectivity issues over WiFi, performing an RF Scan can help. This test analyses the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio frequencies to identify the least utilised channels, thereby minimising interference and improving WiFi speeds.

Steps to Perform an RF Scan

  1. Navigate to the Devices page.
  2. Click on the device you want to scan (device properties will appear on the right-hand side).
  3. Go to Insights > RF Environment > Scan Channels.

Once the scan is completed, the access points will automatically assign themselves to the least utilised channels. The scan results can be viewed in the device properties.

If you have manually set channels in the radio settings, the RF Scan will not override these configurations. The access points will remain on the manually configured channels.
