You may find that when roaming between access points within a network, your device may 'cling' onto one of the units that it was originally connected to, rather than connect to the closest access point. This can be very frustrating at times because the WiFi signal could be very poor in a particular location even though you are stood right next to an access point.
To avoid this, we would recommend reducing the transmit power on each Ubiquiti access point within the network. This means that the coverage from each access point is decreased, allowing a better flow when transitioning from one access point to another.
As you can seen on the map to the left, the high transmit power overlaps within the building. On the second image, the reduced transmit power still covers most of the building without as much overlapping between the access points.
To decrease the transmit power, you will need to go to the devices page > Select the access point > Config > Radios > Transmit power > change to either Medium or Low on both 2G and 5G radio > Save. Ideally, this step will need to be carried out on each access point within the site.
